Nice to meet you!
I’m Annie, and I’m a licensed professional counselor. I came to this field after feeling unsatisfied with my corporate job, and I’m beyond proud and grateful that I was able to make the switch. I truly love what I do.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve known I was called to a helping profession. As a middle child and natural caretaker, nursing seemed like the obvious choice. Through a series of rejections and failures, I was forced to pick a different path, and little did I know it would be one of the best things that could have happened. After some time in corporate America and a lot of contemplation (what the heck was I doing?!), I felt called to make a change. With the help of my therapist, I decided to take the leap and go back to school. I believe these experiences helped shape me into the therapist I am today.
I am a firm believer that therapy is an art and science, just like so much of life. Humans tend to have a desire for neatness, for things to fit in a box, for things to be simple, yet life shows us, over and over, that isn’t always the case. I believe in bringing warmth, curiosity, and affirming energy to the therapeutic space. Together, we can create a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change.
Through my own journey with food, my body and now motherhood, I was drawn to working with folks impacted by hardships in those spaces. You are not alone and deserve to be free from those burdens. Think of all the extra space in your brain you could free up!
When I’m not working, you’ll find me curled up with a good book or show (husband, kid, and dog all together), spending time outdoors, or hanging out with friends and family.
